Reported Speech (Discurso indirecto)

El reported speech, también conocido como discurso indirecto, se utiliza para informar o reportar lo que alguien dijo en pasado, sin citar exactamente sus palabras.

Para construir el reported speech, se utilizan los siguientes pasos:

Introducción: se coloca un verbo introductorio como "said" (dijo), "told" (dijo), "asked" (preguntó), entre otros, seguido de la preposición "that".

Ejemplo: She said that...

Cambio de pronombres y adverbios de lugar y tiempo: se hacen los cambios necesarios en los pronombres, adverbios y expresiones de tiempo y lugar para que concuerden con el nuevo contexto.

Ejemplo: She said, "I am hungry." (Ella dijo: "Tengo hambre.")
She said that she was hungry. (Ella dijo que tenía hambre.)

Cambio de tiempos verbales: se hace un cambio en los tiempos verbales, pasando del presente al pasado.

Ejemplo: She said, "I will come tomorrow." (Ella dijo: "Vendré mañana.")
