Uso de "there is"

El uso de "there is" se emplea para indicar la existencia de algo o alguien en un lugar específico. Se traduce al español como "hay".

La estructura básica es: "There is + un sustantivo".

Si el sustantivo es plural, se utiliza "there are".

A continuación, algunos ejemplos de "there is":

1. There is a book on the table. (Hay un libro en la mesa.)

2. There is a dog in the park. (Hay un perro en el parque.)

3. There is a woman in the store. (Hay una mujer en la tienda.)

4. There is an apple in the fridge. (Hay una manzana en el refrigerador.)

5. There is a problem with my computer. (Hay un problema con mi computadora.)

Y en plural, usamos "there are":

6. There are two cats in the house. (Hay dos gatos en la casa.)

7. There are many students in the classroom. (Hay muchos estudiantes en el aula.)

8. There are five cars in the parking lot. (Hay cinco autos en el estacionamiento.)

9. There are some chairs in the room. (Hay algunas sillas en la habitación.)

10. There are no cookies left. (No quedan galletas.)

Recuerda que "there is" se utiliza con sustantivos singulares y "there are" con sustantivos plurales. Así, puedes hablar de cosas que están presentes o existen en un lugar.
