El estilo indirecto (reporting verbs)
El estilo indirecto, o "reported speech" en inglés, se utiliza para reportar lo que otra persona ha dicho sin citar sus palabras exactas. Usamos verbos reportantes (reporting verbs) para introducir la idea. Algunos de los verbos más comunes son "say", "tell", "ask", "advise", entre otros.
La estructura básica es: verbo reportante + (que) + pronombre + verbo en pasado.
Por ejemplo, si alguien dice "I am happy", en estilo indirecto sería "She said (that) she was happy".
A continuación, se presentan 10 ejemplos de uso del estilo indirecto:
1. Directo: "I like pizza."
Indirecto: He said (that) he liked pizza.
2. Directo: "They are going to the party."
Indirecto: She told me (that) they were going to the party.
3. Directo: "Can you help me?"
Indirecto: He asked me if I could help him.
4. Directo: "I need a pen."
Indirecto: She said (that) she needed a pen.
5. Directo: "We have finished our homework."
Indirecto: They told us (that) they had finished their homework.
6. Directo: "Are you coming?"
Indirecto: He asked me if I was coming.
7. Directo: "Please close the window."
Indirecto: She asked him to close the window.
8. Directo: "I can swim."
