Reported Speech (Indirect Speech)
El Reported Speech (Indirect Speech) se utiliza para informar sobre algo que otra persona ha dicho en el pasado, sin repetir las palabras exactas. En este caso, la estructura de la oración cambia al pasar la información de primera persona a tercera persona.
Estructura general: sujeto + reporting verb (como "said" o "told") + that + sujeto + verbo en pasado
Ejemplos:
Direct speech: She said, "I am going to the store."
Reported speech: She said that she was going to the store.
Direct speech: Tom told me, "I will call you later."
Reported speech: Tom told me that he would call me later.
Direct speech: They said, "We have finished our homework."
Reported speech: They said that they had finished their homework.
Direct speech: He said, "I like pizza."
Reported speech: He said that he liked pizza.
Direct speech: She told us, "We should leave early."
Reported speech: She told us that we should leave early.
